The flashy Flame Angel is a very hardy dwarf angel. With a max size of only 3.9 inches a Flame Angel is suitable for a nano tank 20 plus gallons in size. They are not good reef fish as they tend to nip on LPS corals, Zoo’s, calm mantles and some sort corals. Feed your Flame a variety of foods containing spirulina and marine algae as well as meaty food’s such as PE mysis.
Fire Fish

Another excellent reef fish is a fire goby, or fire fish and they come in three varieties, red, purple, and the rare deepwater Helfrichi. All three types are hardy reef inhabitants and should be kept in groups of two or more, you can mix species if you add them to the tank at the same time. Maximum size is 3.5” so they work well in a nano tank. They are carnivorous and should be fed brine shrimp or other finely chopped seafood. The red variety is commonly stocked at our store for ten dollars or less.
The Midas Blenny

The Midas blenny, (Ecsenius Midas) makes an excellent reef fish. They spend a lot of the time resting inside small holes and crevices in your live rock swimming around with a flowing motion which seems like dancing. They stay on the smaller size, around 3.5-4.5 inches in length. Midas blennies are omnivores and should be fed veggies as well as meat.
